    Tridonic Portugal is part of the Zumtobel Group. We are recruiting for a DevOps Engineer to work in our group-wide software competence centre for lighting technologies in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. Opened in January 2019, the Software Centre currently employs +60 software engineers and continuous to grow. You will be part of a team on the edge of innovation who takes pride in bringing to the market new innovations and state of the art technology. This is an exciting time to join the Tridonic team as we strengthen our position as the global driver of lighting technology.

    As a DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for implementing and managing the deployment, monitoring, and automation the cloud infrastructure of our lighting control software and hardware.

    Your remit will include but not limited to:
    • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or Ansible to automate the provisioning and configuration of lighting control systems.
    • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and deploying lighting control software.
    • Ensure fast and reliable software releases and updates.
    • Containerize lighting control applications using Docker and orchestrate them using Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
    • Set up monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of lighting control systems.
    • Implement proactive measures to address issues before they impact users.
    • Implement security best practices to protect lighting control systems against vulnerabilities and attacks.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to lighting control.
    • Implement robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard data and configurations.
    • Perform regular backups and conduct recovery tests.
    • Collaborate with development teams to optimize the performance and scalability of lighting control applications.
    • Implement load balancing and auto-scaling strategies.
    • Document deployment processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
    • Share knowledge and best practices with the development and operations teams.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, and product managers, to support the software development lifecycle.
Your profile
    In order to fulfil your goals, you should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and:
    • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer and in operating cloud-based systems and Cyper Security.
    • Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
    • Experience with cloud platforms e.g., AWS (preferred), Azure, Google Cloud and managing virtualized environments.
    • AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is a plus.
    • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile/DevOps methodologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong Knowledge in AWS (preferred), Azure or GCS
    • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes).
    • Experience in DevOps tools e.g. AirBrake, CodeShip, Twilio, Loggly,…
    • Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
    • Ability to deliver results in a high-pace and customer demanding environment.
    • Strong problem-solving, analytical abilities and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • High result-orienting & performance culture in balance with empathic team spirit.
