- Develop detailed test plans to ensure thorough testing of applications based on system requirements and design documentation.
- Design and develop test cases, scripts, and tools for functionality, reliability, performance, and adherence to standards.
- Execute tests, including manual and automated test cases, and document detailed results.
- Identify, document, and prioritize bugs and issues found during testing and work closely with the development team to facilitate resolution.
- Implement and maintain automated test scripts to streamline the testing process.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and functionalities.
- Conduct performance testing to ensure that software applications will perform well under their expected workload.
- Conduct regression testing to ensure existing functionalities are not negatively impacted by new developments.
- Validate user interfaces and user experiences under various scenarios and environments.
- Ensure that products comply with legal and regulatory standards and adhere to quality and security benchmarks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback and suggestions for improving software quality and the testing process.
Tridonic Portugal is part of the Zumtobel Group. We are recruiting for a System & Software Test Engineer to work in our group-wide software competence centre for lighting technologies in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. Opened in January 2019, the Software Centre currently employs +60 software engineers and continuous to grow. You will be part of a team on the edge of innovation who takes pride in bringing to the market new innovations and state of the art technology. As a System & Software Test Engineer you will ensure our software products meet the highest standards of quality before they reach our customers and will be responsible for designing test cases, executing tests, and ensuring the functionality, reliability, and consistency of our software applications.
Your remit will include but not limited to:

In order to fulfil your goals, you should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field, and:
- Proven experience as a Software or System Test Engineer in system/software testing, or quality engineer role, including designing and implementing test strategies and plans.
- Proficiency in various testing tools and software, such as TestRail, Selenium, JUnit, etc.
- Familiarity with programming and scripting languages.
- Familiarity with IoT technologies and protocols.
- Certifications such as ISTQB Certified Tester or Certified Software Tester (CSTE) could be advantageous.
- Understanding of various software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps.
- Experience with IoT technologies, protocols, and cybersecurity.
- Knowledge of lighting control systems, IoT, communication protocols and related technologies.
- Proficiency in wired & wireless communication protocols and technologies (e.g., DALI, DMX, KNX, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, BLE).
- Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to deliver results in a high-pace and customer demanding environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
