Tridonic is the Zumtobel Group’s electronics manufacturer, at the forefront of smart lighting. We are seeking a Head of Technology & Innovation at our site in Spennymoor to be the local leader for the Technology & Innovation team.
- Deliver new technologies for emergency lighting and sensors: From concepts to prototypes that can be transferred to development.
- Creation of the technology strategy and roadmap for emergency lighting and align it with the product strategy / roadmaps.
- Support the creation of product strategy / roadmaps for emergency lighting.
- Instigate major contributions to the conception and development of products for the Company’s portfolio at Spennymoor.
- Coach, inspire and lead team members and support their professional growth and development.
- Provide technical support to Product Development, Purchasing, Production and Service departments for the products where required.
- Support R&D Engineers and Technicians, with technical queries.
- Interface with the global organization, meaning occasional travel to other company locations.
- Keep up-to-date with the marketplace in terms of technologies and competitors’ products.
- Establish a network with external research institutions to stay at the forefront of technologies relevant to emergency lighting.
- Lead collaboration projects for technology development with research institutions and commercial partners.

What you will need
- A degree in Electronics / Physics or similar.
- Experience in electronic design in a comparable field.
- Able to demonstrate a record in concept designing and developing Switch Mode Power Supplies.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in developing a team.
- Ability to network effectively and build strong internal and external relationships.
- Open minded and innovative with the outside of the box mindset.
